Post-Halloween Sugar Detox

Halloween has come and gone and I’m sure all of us can agree with what we’re left with…a sugar hangover! Too much candy can leave us feeling sluggish, headache-y, and perhaps a little guilty that we gave in to our Reese’s cravings. BUT, good news is there is a cure! Help your body recover with one or more of these post-Halloween detox remedies.

  1. Yogi Detox Tea - Made with ginger root, which can help with symptoms from stomach aches to sluggishness, this tea will help purify your body from the inside, bringing you back to your energetic and balanced self once again. 
  2. Water, Water, Water - We had to say this one three times just because it may be the most important. Proper hydration can do wonders for your body, no matter what you’ve consumed prior. Water will help your body process the sugar and flush out the inflammation.
  3. Fermented Foods - This is for all of you who are still craving something sweet after Halloween. There is one candy still allowed. Can you guess what it is? Dark chocolate of course! Dark chocolate along with any other fermented foods can be a great addition to your sugar detox. The fermentation process enriches the foods with probiotics, which help improve digestion, protect against colon cancer, and can even protect against cavities. Now, that’s sweet and worth the indulgence!
