Chinese herbs have impressive healing abilities. Our minds, bodies, and spirits can greatly benefit from natural herbal remedies.

Here are 5 Chinese Herbs that you can incorporate into your everyday life:

Cinnamon/Gui Zhi - This herb in great for treating menstrual issues such as cramps and stopped or missed periods.


Ginger/Sheng Giang - As a natural inflammatory, ginger works well for morning sickness, nausea, pain relief, heartburn, and colds, just to name a few.

Goji Berry / Gou Qi Zi - Goji berries increase longevity, strengthen your immune system, improve your vision, and protect your liver.

Astragalus/ Huang Qi- This is a wonderful herb to prevent colds, allergies, and flu. It also combats bacteria, viruses, and inflammation.

Ginseng- G inseng stimulates your immune system and fights fatigue. It helps the body adapt to stress and can also improve blood cholesterol, lower blood sugar levels, and enhance stamina.

Ingredients:

·      2 apples, sliced

·      ¼ c brown sugar

·      1 tsp. cinnamon

·      Pinch of salt

·      2c oatmeal

·      2c milk

·      2c water

Prep: Place apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in the bottom of the crockpot. Pour in oatmeal, milk and water. Do not stir. Cook on low for eight to nine hours.

10 Common Herbs For Cooking and Healing

You’ll probably recognize most of these spices…they’re pretty common to have in the spice cabinet, but make sure you keep them stocked up.  The healing qualities will transform your spice cabinet into a medicine cabinet as well!

  6. Oregano - A proven immune booster, it can also settle the stomach, fight infection, and be taken in a tea at night to settle the mind for a good night’s sleep.
  7. Basil - It’s known as a sleep aid and can reduce tension and anxiety.
  8. Bay leaves - Another good one for improving digestion.
  9. Sage - It can remedy a cough, aid digestion, act as an antibiotic, and it’s even known to ward off evil spirits…
  10. Garlic - Excellent source of antibiotics and immune booster.
